Announcing When Love Hurts, the podcast, with Karen McAndless-Davis and Jill Cory
What if everything you thought you knew about abuse wasn’t quite right?
What do you do when you realize the man you’re with is not who he says he is? But you can’t quite put your finger on exactly what the problem is. What do you do when you feel trapped and alone in your relationship, but everyone else thinks he’s such a great guy.
The authors of When Love Hurts, a Woman’s Guide to Understanding Abuse in Relationships, have spent decades supporting women who’ve experienced abuse and also help organizations and communities develop informed and compassionate responses so that women receive the right kind of support.
In this podcast, we’re exposing the hidden realities about men’s abuse of women. What it really is. Why it happens and what needs to change.
We’ll challenge and correct the misinformation that too often surrounds women. Abuse and talk honestly about how abuse impacts women in every aspect of their lives, emotionally, psychologically, financially, physically, socially, and spiritually.
Abuse isn’t just a personal problem, it’s a systemic issue, rooted in power, gender inequality, and silence.
Women can’t be expected to face it alone. It’s time for all of us friends, family, faith communities, leaders and neighbors to understand what abuse looks like and how we can all be part of meaningful change.
This podcast is for everyone, whether you’re a survivor, a support person, a professional, or just someone who wants to understand and do better.
Because love should never hurt, and understanding abuse is the first step toward ending the silent epidemic.
