One in three women who are raped contemplate suicide
In a study conducted by Dr. Mary Koss it was shown that 1 in 3 women who are raped contemplate suicide. This is true whether the women had acknowledged their experience as a rape or not. 17% of rape victims attempt suicide. Again, this is regardless of whether the woman acknowledges what has happened to her is rape or not. These disturbing statistics give us a window into the nightmare that survivors of rape experience.
